I never expected a degree in theology and years in church ministry to lead me into financial planning, but life had other plans. After moving to Chicago to pursue a new career, I quickly discovered a natural ability for financial management, strategic thinking, and helping people make informed decisions. What began as a “maybe this will stick” job soon revealed itself as a calling that felt surprisingly familiar. I had spent years guiding people through life’s complexities, and financial planning simply introduced me to a new community to support.
More than 20 years later, now living back home in Birmingham, Alabama, I lead a financial services practice in alliance with Equitable Advisors focused on bringing clarity by helping clients “look around the corner” and uncover strategies they didn’t realize were available. By integrating tax planning strategies, business strategy, and personal finance, I help create order, confidence, and peace of mind. Whether identifying overlooked tax opportunities, aligning business and personal decisions. I thrive on thoughtful, out of the box options that help support long term stability.
I work with business owners and affluent, multigenerational families; people who are exceptional at earning money and want to feel just as confident managing it. My work spans comprehensive financial planning, guaranteed* and sustainable income strategies, risk management and structured investments,to help businesses become valuable, transferable assets. Married since 1997, my wife and I have three children, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, and two dogs; Waylon and Shakespeare. I’m deeply involved in my church, passionate about charitable giving, and currently writing a book on biblical financial planning. Outside the office, you’ll find me traveling with a group of business leaders, planning my next trip to Alaska or Costa Rica, lifting weights, playing pickleball, hunting, cheering on the Chicago Bears and Crimson Tide football, or hooking up the camper and heading outdoors.
